Trisea Container Lines: Engineered for the Extraordinary. Your Strategic Partner for Seamless Global Logistics.
The term NVOCC (Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier). It refers to logistics providers who function much like shipping lines in terms of booking, selling space, and issuing documentation—but without owning ships.
Instead of operating vessels, an NVOCC like Trisea Container Lines secures cargo space from shipping companies and offers it to customers.
Maritime containers form the core of an NVOCC’s business. They lease container space from ocean carriers and provide it to freight forwarders, traders, and other businesses that need reliable transport solutions.
Once a customer books space, the NVOCC becomes responsible for the cargo movement. A customised Bill of Lading is issued as proof of the transport contract. To ensure cost-efficient logistics, Trisea Container Lines consolidates shipments from different clients into one or more containers. These consolidated units are then shipped to the destination, where they are deconsolidated and handed over for final delivery.
Because of this consolidation function, NVOCCs are often called cargo groupers.
Typically, NVOCC operations are focused on the ocean leg of the supply chain. They arrange container space with vessel operators and handle all related documentation and cargo coordination. In simple terms, an NVOCC like Trisea Container Lines manages the transportation process even though it does not own the vessel itself.
